Are you looking for a fun and exciting career? Jarraff Industries is looking for a CAD Designer Technician to join our Engineering team. We actually design and manufacture some of the coolest machines you will ever see.

Our CAD Design Tech will utilizes CAD to incorporate designs into the manufacturing process and equipment to provide support to engineers by preparing concepts, layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for manufacture and/or prototyping. Makes copies of drawings and maintains information regarding changes to database. Makes decision based on best practice processes. Has a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology, possesses mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations. Has familiarity with CAD software and ability to apply skills. Handle continuous improvement changes to CAD models and engineering drawings to keep product information current. Improve accuracy of existing CAD models within Solidworks as well as model new ideas working from concept to production. Ability to create BOM’s to communicate to other department within the company for manufacturing.

Typical job duties include: Proficient in Solidworks 3D CAD Software (Solidworks Essentials and others are a plus), Handle complex design and drafting assignments under minimal supervision, Ability to look at changes in manufacturing setting and transfer into a CAD based model to communicate changes, Work closely with other Drafters, Designers and Engineers to ensure efficient design effort is maintained, Identify potential design issues early in the conceptual phases prior to production release, Review drawings for completeness and accuracy, Develop 3D models by analyzing prototypes, sketches and 2D drawings, Competent in piece parts to large assemblies and structuring BOMs, Provide technical assistance and solutions to the team, Participate in Engineering Project meetings and conference calls as required, Interaction with suppliers to specify components or design requirements, Create manual/service drawings to Service Department and Tech Support.

Position requirements include: Associate’s Technical Degree in CAD or Equal, 4+ years’ experience in CAD Drafting/Design with 1000+ Hours, Solidworks Professional Certification is a plus and Drafting experience in Solidworks and File Management with EPDM a plus.
