Job Summary
The Insurance Claims Specialist will be reviewing and comparing property insurance claims against the scope of work required. Using Xactimate, modify and prepare the claims to reflect the materials and activities required to complete the work. Over the phone, discuss the claims with the insurance adjusters and explain, justify and negotiate if necessary the changes that were made to the claim.
We are seeking an individual who can “think on their feet” when handling claim settlements with insurance companies. The candidate we select must have a persistent, determined and fair approach to dealing with adjusters.
Basic Duties & Responsibilities (partial list):
Manage a portfolio of 20-25 claims per week in our busy season.
Inspect job to ensure profit margins are being reached.
Provide insurance company with estimates when needed.
Justify estimate when needed with the insurance company.
Build rapport with insurance adjusters to understand their process.
Maintain a professional and fair relationship with the claims adjusters.
Work with Production department and salespeople on proper documentation of necessary supplements to properly represent the changes made to a claim.
Send final invoice to insurance company and customer.
Communicate with the homeowner concerning our invoice as needed.
Skill Requirements
Excellent computer skills a must.
Xactimate software experience a plus. We will train the right candidate!
Construction experience preferred (roofing, siding, windows, interior,).
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Ability to negotiate in a professional manner.
Excellent customer service skills.
