The IT Specialist is a full time position located in our Minneapolis, MN headquarters.

Position Summary

The IT Specialist position is responsible for set-up, configuration, continuous operation and maintenance of the Life Link III network operation. This includes providing IT application, infrastructure, and system support for Life Link III employees and business processes. This position performs a combination of duties; phone support, desk side technical support, and bench-top diagnosis and repair to include resolving internal customer related problems. This position will also help be responsible for the administration of network and server infrastructure, planning of technology projects, maintenance of hardware systems, implementing technology security and execution of all technology-related tasks and initiatives. Also provides support for the company’s telecommunications infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field

•3+ years providing computing support

•Familiarity working with Microsoft Office, server environment, and operating systems

•Knowledge of Virtual Private Networks and wireless network system concepts

•Proactive customer focus, collaboration and project management skills

•Strong interpersonal skills

•Professional and efficient written and oral communication skills

•Familiarity with data base system use, access, and management

•Experience implementing and managing IT projects with proven success

•Knowledge and/or experience

•Ability for limited travel to bases in Minnesota and Wisconsin

•Ability to respond to urgent situations as needed to support 24/7/365 operations

Preferred Qualifications:

•MCP, MCSA, MCSE, CISSP, Network+, CompTIA A+ certifications preferred but not required

•Familiar with privacy regulations (HIPAA) and best practices

•Familiar with data security regulations and best practices

•Familiar with Content Management Systems (CMS) and WordPress

Typical Duties:

•Support and maintain user PC applications in a network environment.

•Address on-site computing questions and requests regarding user desktop and laptop computer performance in the network environment.

•Assist internal customers with data extraction and report creation to support business analytical needs.

•Evaluate network performance issues, monitor network security for threats to company data, and address any issues.

•Responsible for all company IT ticket requests from users. Offering timely solution of issues in house or working with vendors to resolve and updating customers.

•Consult with staff regarding end user computing systems and network-based PC/workstation software and hardware, system security, recovery and back-up procedures.

•Provide project oversight support for IT developmental and implementation projects.

•Handle multiple IT project responsibilities simultaneously to prioritize work and resolve technical emergencies as they may occur.

•Support monitoring, maintenance, backup, and upgrade of IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, and software.

•Provide support for operational data query requirements.

•Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT improvements, connectivity, bandwidth, security, and scaling.

•Develop, maintain and coordinate information security compliance, architecture, security policies, principles and standards.

Compliance/HIPPA

•Must perform work in the manner prescribed by documented work process in order to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations, accreditation standards and laws that apply, specifically work processes that involve billing practices, for avoiding activities that constitute fraud and abuse. Must provide support to ensure compliance with IT security requirements
