PROJECT: We are standing up a new Digital Accessibility Program to complete annual assessments for existing properties. The Accessibility Center of Excellence has a comprehensive learning program which is designed to help teams both learn what they need to know about accessibility, and continue to learn as accessibility standards are updated to new and emerging technologies and user experience practices.

TOP REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative technical environment collaboratively and productively with both diverse teams and independently.
• Self-motivated with a desire to improve products for people with disabilities. General awareness of disabilities that impact a person's ability to interact with digital content.
• Advanced communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

What experience will set candidates apart from one another? Familiarity with digital accessibility, ability to build a diverse network to champion an objective, ability to make technical concepts clear to people with diverse backgrounds and competencies.

The Accessibility Center of Excellence seeks energetic, motivated and resourceful individuals to join our growing team. The Accessibility Center of Excellence serves providing guidance, training and talent to product teams as they build solutions that ensure everyone can access.

DAY-TO-DAY:
As an accessibility communication consultant, you will play a role in building relationships and promoting the Accessibility Center of Excellence across the enterprise, improving enterprise adoption and understanding of accessibility practices, and creating varied ways for people to learn about accessibility and improve their skills. You will plan events that educate and train product teams on specific accessibility requirements and the use of tools that teams can use to incorporate accessibility early in the product development lifecycle. You will actively contribute in one or more working groups for standards, research, tools development or other accessibility resources to help mature the practice of accessibility within the company and promote a culture of inclusive design, using best in class accessibility tools and techniques.

To be successful, you must show empathy towards people with disabilities, have strong people, organizational and prioritization skills, proven by your ability to influence others and promote best practices for design, engineering and accessibility. Having excellent communication skills with all talent levels (team members, peers, and executive leadership) is essential.

Responsibilities:
• Under the direction of the Manager, Knowledge, Awareness and Learning, promote the A11y CoE, training opportunities, events and resources such as the accessibility knowledge center within the enterprise.
• Participate in planning, coordination, execution and evaluation of A11y CoE events.
• Develop communications content, tailored to the specific medium and audience requirements, for the knowledge center, webinars and training.
• Perform research to identify and analyze audience and internal business communications needs and preferences, utilizing applicable stakeholder input and data sources (e.g., business objectives or issues to be addressed, desired outcomes, root cause analysis).
• Identify and implement overall communication strategies based on identified needs of the business (e.g., how communications can support the needs of the business).
• Manage accessibility communication projects to monitor and ensure proper implementation (e.g., role assignments, timelines/milestones, budget management, issue tracking, deliverables).
• Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends in the communication and mass media industries.
• Collaborate/communicate with internal and external vendors/partners.
• Identify and analyze quantitative and qualitative measurement and evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of communications.
• Adhere to applicable internal and external communications standards established for the business (e.g., branding standards/guidelines, internal style guides, naming conventions, CAN-SPAM laws, legal review, AP style guides, communications industry standards, health literacy Blue Book).
• Revise or update communications content or approach based on established metrics and feedback processes, and initiate the reapproval process as needed.

Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
• Passion for inclusive design and accessibility.
• General knowledge of HTML, CSS, content management systems, Sharepoint, Microsoft Office and use of intranet and social media tools.
• General knowledge of Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) guidelines and specifications and Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of WCAG.
• Self-motivated with a desire to improve products for people with disabilities. General awareness of disabilities that impact a person's ability to interact with digital content.
• 5+ years working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative technical environment collaboratively and productively with both diverse teams and independently.
• 3+ years working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
• 1+ years assisting with event coordination.
• Understanding of Agile development methodology.
• Knowledge of plain language and an ability to convey technical concepts to a variety of people and backgrounds.
• Understanding of the business of health care, how to navigate channels or outlets that best align with our objectives, cultivate relationships and maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends.
• Advanced organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Advanced communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

What are the work hours? 8am-5pm
