Technical Writing Contract
Project: 40 Hours
Forensic Building Science, Inc. is a building inspection company. We serve attorneys that litigate insurance claims. We produce reports that are used in mediations and various legal proceedings.
Our firm is seeking an experienced technical writer on a contract basis to evaluate and edit 4 report templates. The goal is to improve layman readability and reduce word count.
The ideal candidate possesses:
5+ years of professional technical writing experience
A concise and efficient writing style
Examples of comparable work
Has extensive knowledge in Microsoft Office
We anticipate this to be approximately 40 hours of work. There may be recurring opportunities to edit new report formats in the future.
The writer will be paid in 2 stages- 30% when drafts are complete and 70% at final.
We would like this project to be completed within 30 days from start date (target start: 6/25)
This position allows candidates to work remotely. The writer will work with the company president and lead technical consultant.
We will accept a fixed or hourly quote for services. We will provide the existing templates so that you may provide an accurate quote.
