Senior Data EngineerJob Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Senior Data Engineer for a contract position in Minnetonka, MN. Opportunity will be eight months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.Position Summary: The Data Engineer is responsible for converting Client's data architecture into physical designs, implementing and maintaining data structures and processing pipelines for the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from a variety of data sources. They design and develop robust, scalable solutions that transform data into a useful format for analysis, enhance data flow, and enable efficient, cost effective consumption and analysis of data. They write complex SQL or programs and assist technical and business users with our data.Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Understand business and technical requirements. Convert logical data models to physical data models, DDL, roles and views.
  • Create and update data architecture designs and data flows for subject areas impacted by a program/project. Create source to target documents for ETL developers and ensure an efficient design.
  • Work with Client and Business SMEs on program/projects to understand requirements and identify non-functional requirements that will impact the data design. Actively engaged as core member of scrum teams to deliver on data programs\projects.
  • Work with ETL and QA to ensure all requirements are met by the solution. Work with DBA's to tune performance

Qualifications:
  • BS in Computer Science or related field is required. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • 7 years of Data Engineer experience, with the ability to function as a subject matter expert for other staff.
  • A total of 15-20 years' experience in IT or data analytics with significant time on data sourcing, modeling, integration, and architecture is preferred.
  • Experience in health care payer business (preferred) or similar regulated industry
  • Skilled in SQL, data analysis, data profiling, data mapping and integration.
  • Data modeling for physical, dimensional and relational 3NF models.
  • Experience in creating data warehouses, data marts, and operational system databases.
  • Evaluate, analyze, design and implement solutions based on technical requirements.
  • Communicate to a variety of audiences in both verbal and written form

Preferred:
  • Advanced SQL, query tuning, RDBMS, and Query tools. Database performance is a plus.
  • Prior experience in ETL, reporting and analytics, and business intelligence tools is preferred
  • Is a data leader within the development team. Expected to have answers and explain issues or solutions. Finds best available information and outlines the path or options for decision makers and the team.

  • Ability to share experiences/knowledge and lead others
  • Ability to put together complex pieces of a puzzle to deliver better products or services for your business partners

A REMOTE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Substation Engineer - System Protection to join our team. The Substation System Protection Engineer serves as an engineer on electric substation design projects for high-voltage utility systems and renewable energy interconnection projects. He/she will apply their engineering knowledge and experience to fulfill the principal duties and responsibilities listed below. He/she should be familiar with protection scheme functionality and have the ability to develop relay settings. He/she will also work with other internal and external project stakeholders to ensure project milestones and expectations of contracted services are met. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. Duties and Responsibilities Performs all aspects of design for high voltage (4kV - 230kV) and EHV (above 230kV) substation projects to include: Development of Protection and Control Specifications Relay Settings Event Analysis Studies Short Circuit Relay Coordination CT Saturation Other power system studies Perform QA/QC One-Line Diagrams Three-Line Diagrams Current and Potential Schematics Control Schematics Alarm Schematics Technical Support Procurement Construction (Testing and Commissioning) Active Coordination Ability to work seamlessly with and provide guidance to the P&C Design team in their development of the above-listed items Ability to provide technical support to field personnel, responsible for applying and testing relay settings Ability to coordinate efforts with all project team members by identifying coordination needs within specific disciplines (i.e., protection and control design engineers, transmission line engineers, distribution line engineers, telecom engineers, etc.) Support Consistency Follow department processes and procedures Continue strong customer service Support Business Provides transparent and honest feedback to the project team (i.e., external stakeholders, clients, etc.) Helps develop approaches to accommodate unique client requests.
