Requirements:
⢠Knowledge of installation of distribution natural gas lines and services
⢠Strong leadership skills and ability to direct crew to safely execute job responsibilities
⢠Strong communication skills
⢠Ability to operate heavy equipment (e.g. skid steers, backhoes, trenchers, dozers, track hoes, HDD drills, etc.)
⢠Ability to work in all weather conditions
⢠Flexibility to work varying schedules and stay late as needed
⢠Willing to travel overnights as needed, within the construction season
⢠Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time and maneuver in small areas
⢠Federal Med/Health Card
*Preferred Class A CDL with tanker endorsement, but not required
Description:
⢠Train employees on fusing, excavating, and proper use of tools on the job
⢠Plan out job in advance and how it will be executed
⢠Maintain open communication with crew members and management
⢠Responsible for communicating with inspectors, homeowners, crews, and all others in a positive and effective manner
⢠Complete proper documentation regarding all damages, injuries, vehicle accidents, and property damage
⢠Follow safe utility practices and written procedures
⢠Complete safety paperwork daily
⢠Ensure employees have current operator qualifications
⢠Complete and construct customer-required documents, along with construction drawings
⢠Checks and maintains equipment to ensure efficient and safe working order
⢠Operate equipment of various sizes and weights to prepare worksite, excavations, and move materials
⢠Work in adherence to safe practices, procedures and work site or traffic laws
⢠Perform pre and post trip inspections daily
⢠Dig around high-profile congested utility areas
⢠Use hand tools to dig around existing utilities to prevent damages
⢠Perform other duties as assigned
Education, Skills, Experience:
⢠Previous foreman/leadership experience in the utility industry
⢠Demonstrate strong leadership qualities
⢠Operate equipment near others and around underground utilities
⢠Desire to learn and commitment to working safely
⢠Maintain a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
