Job Summary

Ellingson Companies is currently seeking a Welder Fabricator to join our team!

The Welder Fabricators primary function is to weld, fabricate and help design in our repair and build shop.

On a regular basis, the following list of duties are what the welder fabricator is responsible for.

Reading and following blueprints, designing and fabricating the equipment and parts for meeting the special or unusual needs, using the manufacturer specifications, calculator, measuring devices, drawings, personal experience and creativity, etc.

Cutting and joining metal parts for fabricating or repairing heavy equipment vehicle equipment, tools and various other articles, applying tools like mig-welder, plasma cutter, arc welder, chop saw, oxyacetylene torch etc.

Installing or removing any special equipment like paint machine, grinder, power and hand tools.

Designing and creating holding jigs that aid in fabrication of the parts in various numbers.

Maintaining a record of all the work completed to facilitate accounting activities.

Maintaining routine inventory supplies that are used for operating the welding unit via inspection of stocks and ordering fresh stock when required.

Computer literate, Auto Cad experience or ability a big plus, at the very least must be a fast and willing learner.

Skills Required

Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of metals used for cutting, welding and forming objects and of various welding fluxes and rods.

Knowledge of safety precautions related to occupational hazards, procedures and practices.

Skilled in identifying the proper power and hand tools in the safest possible manner and various equipment.

Skilled in operating various equipment, especially trucks, forklift and/or skid steer.

Requirements

Mig-welding experience, preferably 2+ years.

Ability to use hand tools frequently.

Ability to work with complex welding tools, mig-welder, specifically ox-fuel, plasma, mag-drills, CNC machines.

Read blueprints/strong mathematic skills.

Extensive knowledge of welding symbols and blueprint reading skills.
