The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.Wells Fargo Compliance is the company’s compliance independent risk management function, providing company-wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all front-line business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet compliance responsibilities, and manage compliance risks. Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for compliance risk management activities across the enterprise.The Compliance Sr. Associate will be responsible for compliance oversight and program management for compliance activities related to mortgage lending. The Compliance Sr. Associate will work with business partners across the organization, including Retail, Servicing and the Legal Department to ensure an effective compliance program. The Compliance Sr. Associate will partner with business lines and other risk management groups to identify risk and ensure processes, procedures, controls and other business activities meet regulatory requirements as efficiently and comprehensively as possible. In addition, the Compliance Sr Associate will monitor the resolution of outstanding issues and consult with senior leaders in developing corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners and the Legal Department.This position will also have responsibility for providing compliance consulting and operational risk expertise for other initiatives as identified to ensure that we remain in compliance with federal and state regulations.This position requires a professional risk leader who has strong risk assessment skills and the mortgage industry knowledge necessary to:

Review and analyze business processes to identify risk;

Work with subject matter experts to ensure development of effective training;

Determine effectiveness of training;

Suggest improvements and/or inspection/monitoring strategies; and

Ensure compliance with new and existing federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory requirements

5+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 5+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in risk management

Desired Qualifications:

Risk management and mitigation experience

Experience developing, implementing and monitoring a risk-based compliance program to assure compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory requirements or providing oversight to a compliance function

Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment

Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

Ability to provide leadership by coaching, training, and mentoring

Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management

Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships

An active Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation

A Juris Doctor (JD) degree

Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
