Senior Software Engineer United States citizenship required per government contract (no dual citizenship). Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements.

Summary The Software Engineer will define, develop in JAVA and C, verify, integrate, and test the software requirements to include all aspects of performance, quality, life cycle costs, maintainability, reliability, schedule, data processing reserves, and future growth requirements.
Responsibilities will include:
Perform software development as needed for the TFDM (Terminal Flight Data Management) system
Provide any support needed for system engineering
Perform integration of the components of the TFDM system
Participate in the conduct of informal and formal testing of the TFDM system
Articulating user needs and requirements from high level user stories
Developing the design for the user interface framework
Developing client and server-side components; analyzing and designing databases within an application
Working in an Agile Scrum environment
Integration and testing of the TFDM which may include:
Preparation of test documentation
Development of test cases and scenarios
Development of test tools and aids, and
Execution of tests and documentation of test results
Required technical skills
Software Development - Languages JAVA, C, and J2EE
Experience in full-life cycle software applications development using an agile and waterfall methodology, to include engineering, development, test and integration
Experience with Test Driven Development
A thorough understanding of Object Oriented Programming (backend JAVA development in particular) and understanding of the J2EE stack
Experience and/or knowledge of aviation / air traffic control
Experience developing and creation with XML Schemas and Definitions
Experience with Test Driven Development
Familiarization with the Atlassian Tool Suite and JIRA
SQL knowledge is desired but not a requirement
Education/Experience Emerging authority typically with an advanced degree and 7+ years' experience or Bachelor's Degree in computer science, scientific, or appropriate engineering discipline with 9+ years' experience or equivalent; applies extensive expertise; solves complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity; work is performed without appreciable direction and is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long time perspective; may function in project leadership roles and represents the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts. Desired skills include knowledge of FAA systems, air traffic management, and tower controller understanding.
