Technical Product Manager, St. Paul, MN (Seeking candidates local to the Twin Cities metro, as this role is designated as hybrid. Mostly remote, but selected resource will be in office as needed for meetings, working sessions, etc.)

Kelly Services is seeking a Technical Product Manager, a demonstrated self-starter that possesses strong communication skills, that is able to effectively translate both technical & business requirements for one of our top clients in St. Paul, MN.

Pay Rate: $negotiable/hr. (W2)

The selected resource will be responsible for partnering with key groups within the enterprise, including Customer Experience and IT, to understand and translate the market requirements for a new member-facing digital offering into the technical business requirements. This will include, but not be limited to, gathering existing and potential requirements for product enhancements for new products and translating to high level technical and business requirements regarding the impacts to related teams. The selected resource will work with cross-functional teams (both internal and external) to ensure market alignment, organizational readiness and timely, quality execution for these offerings. Resource will be responsible for gathering, documenting, and translating the technical business requirements for a product launch and driving the project management execution for these areas. This resource will oversee product management processes, including member experience standards, governance, process and tool development and maintenance.

A Day in the Life

  • Partners with the appropriate teams to advance the member experience, technical and delivery requirements for a new member-facing technology.
  • Partners with business and technical SMEs who have outlined market, business and product requirement and then the technical program manager will lead the cross functional effort to translate the work toward technical product requirements.
  • Drives the product governance process, to ensure prioritization and consistent application of best practice processes.
  • Ensures program requirements and roadmap follows agile best practices.
  • Collaborates with key teams (including market planning, IT, Operations, and Finance), to outline, drive, and execute the appropriate project plans and scorecards to monitor and manage the key project milestones.
  • Establishes and monitors success metrics and milestones through rollout.
  • Manages expectations across matrix teams to expand the organizations view of how this key initiative impacts our members and other key stakeholders.
  • Proactively communicates with and advise key leadership regarding process improvements and ongoing initiatives.
  • Demonstrates continuous learning and leadership in industry best practices including technical product management / agile.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
  • 3 years' experience managing complex projects involving multiple team members and including task assignment, working with key customers (internal or external), managing teams and customer relationships and managing project deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across systems and functions to facilitate solutions and capabilities development.
  • Experience in leading new product, sales implementations, or service efforts through the operations stage ( from business case to pilot and from pilot to commercialization phase).
  • Proven experience in developing technical product requirements for complex products and programs.
  • Agile product ownership experience; Agile certification is a nice to have.
  • Exceptional project management and communication skills with results orientation.
  • Ability to gain buy-in/drive results in a complex, often ambiguous, environment.
  • Self-directed, ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a timely manner
