Fraser Steel is located in Albertville, Minnesota â 20 miles northwest of Minneapolis on I-94 and minutes from major cross-country transportation routes. Our 80,000 square foot design and fabrication facility has over 30 major work centers. In a normal year we produce more than 2,000 unique items. Some 200,000 parts per day roll off these production centers into Fraser Steelâs âgrocery storeâ Logistics staging area.
SUMMARY
The Tool & Die Designer will coordinate the repair, rebuild, improvement, and ground up design for Dies and Tooling. This position will be responsible for designs, details, and the creation of new dies, and will also research new technologies and innovations in order to develop new products and improve on existing products as well as reduce costs.
CNC & Support Software Requirements:
-Blueprint reading / able to work from CAD models
-3+ years of machining experience on machines such as Hass CNC Mills, FANUC controls, Mori-Seki CNC Lathe.
-Experience using Solidworks, and CAMWorks (other CAM software experience a plus).
-Familiar with Microsoft Office
Manual Tool Room Requirements:
-Blueprint reading / able to work from CAD models
-Trak Mill
-Manual Lathe
-Surface Grinding
-Various Hand Tools
Inspection Skills:
-Familiar with all common handheld instrumentâs and gages
-Use of CMM (Portable Arms preferred)
-Knowledge of PCDMIS a plus
