Regions Hospital is seeking a compassionate Burn Survivor Peer Support to join our Burn Department. This position is a vital and integral part of an interdisciplinary burn team and works with burn staff including providers, nurses, social workers, psychotherapists, and others. We are looking for a compassionate caring individual who is driven to help others. The Burn Survivor Peer Support must be flexible in a variety of circumstances as well have the ability to establish and maintain relationships with families, coworkers, community individuals and organizations. This position is responsible for the clinical case management and care coordination of the trauma patient. Vital to this position is strong communication with the pre-hospital, primary, and referral providers and prompt identification relating to trauma performance improvement activities on a concurrent basis. Education and injury prevention are also key components of the role of the TNC. Responsibilities include: Assists the burn team in providing direct and indirect services to patients and families during hospitalization. You will assist survivors in the transition from injury to rehabilitation to integration into the community. You will help the patient to understand, in general terms, the physical phenomena they are likely to experience during the healing process. Establish and promote programs and events to support burn survivors. Work schedule: Monday-Friday, Days/Evenings Required Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience: One year of experience working in health care or related field setting with patient/client contact or in a community health or related service agency. Must be a burn survivor. Preferred Qualifications: Education: Bachelor\'s degree Licensure/Registration/Certification: Must be willing to be acquire S.O.A.R. (Survivors Offering Assistance in Recovery) coordinator certification within 2 years of hire.
