Sr Technical Editor

As a writer/editor, you will be supporting US gov interagency coordination on networking and IT R&D and support multi-disciplinary teams of experts on a multiple short- and long-term projects. You will be responsible for writing and editing fact sheets, newsletters, bulletins, meeting summaries and web content.You will also be responsible for performing quality assurance tasks and may update content using a content management system (CMS). The preferred location for this position is Washington, D.CKey Responsibilities:Research, write, edit, and QC content aimed toward health professionals

Write and edit plain language materials

Create meeting summaries for NIH meetings

Populate and update website content using a CMS

Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree

4 years of experience writing and editing networking information technology and/or research & development

2 years of demonstrated experience in managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision

Basic HTML markup skills

Preferred Skills/Experience:Master’s degree in a science, or writing-related field

Knowledge of plain language writing principles

Experience interacting with government clients

Experience using a CMS

Ability and willingness to learn new computer software applications as necessary

High level of organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to multitask and adjust to shifting work priorities

Excellent time management skills and ability to work well under strict deadlines and high production requirements

Ability to work as part of a team and support other team members
