Information Services is the central IT department supporting all divisions of the Metropolitan Council. Our 140 team members provide technology, practices and innovative solutions that enable the core services of the Council.
General Duties: The Metropolitan Council seeks a driven self-starter to serve as our senior leader for Information Technology (IT) Application Services. The Director of Application Services is responsible for the strategy, practice, and tactical execution of the Council’s IT business application development and support services. They direct departmental functions in the areas of GIS, custom application development practice, packaged application support, and systems integrations. The successful candidate will be a people-centric change leader helping the organization move at pace as we grow to embrace a new strategic vision.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in any field (management, MIS or computer science would be helpful) AND eight years of progressively responsible experience managing and leading an application development team in a large, complex IT organization including five years of management experience. OR Master’s degree in any field (management, MIS or computer science would be helpful) AND six years of progressively responsible experience managing and leading an application development team in a large, complex IT organization including five years of management experience.
