Summary:This position serves as the team lead for the department and is responsible for the stocking,equipping, cleaning, and issuing of units to crews in preparation for field shifts. This position also serves as the Warehouse Lead being responsible for the daily activities necessary for EMS warehouse operations. This position will interact internally throughout the company and with various entities externally.Working Environment:Will work indoors and outdoors. Will endure working in various temperatures. Will occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions as well as blood/body fluids and fumes/odors. Will be exposed to noise, mechanical equipment, and electrical equipment. Will work extended hours as needed. Frequently works with others and will have face-to-face contact with others within the organization as well as the public. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be prompt and ensure regular attendance
Serves as a team lead and may supervise other logistics employees
Maintains regular communications with Directors and Managers
Recovers and cleans items or equipment from hospitals and prepares for exchange
Maintains a safe and clean work environment (including biohazard maintenance)
Maintains Operative IQ and Microsoft Access reports
Performs all functions pertinent to maintaining adequate inventory (including purchasing, distribution, and managing accounts)
Conducts and manages inventory audits
Maintains records/accounts pertinent to medical and biohazard waste management
Complies with all local, state, and federal laws (i.e. state and county inventory levels, HIPPA, and OSHA)
Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (i.e. SOP’s, environment
audits, unit reviews, etc.)
Participates in departmental and company meetings as required
Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with all levels of personnel
Ensures communication, cooperation, and responsiveness to field staff personnel matters
Attends continuing education and training pertinent to logistics operations
Must be able to perform all duties in the Logistics department with proficiency
Maintains delivery vehicle in a safe, clean and well-organized manner. Works with Fleet to assure scheduled PM’s and other maintenance as necessary
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Current Driver’s License
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Successful completion of EVOC as well as Mississippi EMS Driver license within six months of hire
Possess proficient knowledge of Emergency Medical supplies (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
Frequently: Lifting, kneeling, stooping, bending, leaning, reaching, touching, typing, hearing, and listening
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
