Function of Job:
Under general supervision of designated supervisor fabricate and prepare for finishing, various structures using wood products, tooling foam, composite structures, bonding agents, structural putty and apply various spray on finishes. Able to use basic hand tools, read a ruler, read drawings and follow the directions of the Production Supervisors and Team Leads. Must be able to work with others and take instruction.
- Cut, shape, and assemble wood, composition, and/or composite material using shop tools, and equipment such as planners, shaper, routers, skill saw, table saw, etc.
- Prepare structures for finish applications by planing, shaping and sanding; using hand/power tools
- Read and interpret plans, sketches, and shop drawings for milling and fabrication.
- Work closely with Production Technicians and Engineering Team to assist in the building of composite components.
- Maintain and clean equipment and work area.
- May perform work of carpenter as assigned.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude, coordination and dexterity
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Successful completion of a vocational school is preferred
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of shop practices and skill in using shop tools and equipment
- Three years experience as a finish carpenter or cabinet maker
- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
- Extensive knowledge of power tools, including skill saw, miter and jigsaw
- Ability to accurately use measuring devices
- Ability to read and understand job instructions
- Ability to read blueprints and translate into fabricated products
- Good understanding of basic math
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a team-oriented individual with a willingness to learn
- Crane and forklift skills preferred
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Security Clearance
- This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations

Physical Requirements:
- Standing 90% of the day
- Willingness and physical ability to work at heights, climb ladders and steps, and work in an industrial
environment containing dust
- Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform related duties and responsibilities of this job, including
heavy lifting
- Sound and noise moderate and occasionally loud and distracting
- Required to wear personal protective equipment
