Mandiant is looking for a talentedStaffSoftware Engineer tojoin our team.Specifically, this position will work closely with two teams: theMandiantData Science& Data Engineeringteam and theMandiant Advantage Labs team.This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading teams on ourextensivemalware datasets.

WhatYou’ll Do:

  • Architect,developand manageadistributed system forsearching efficiently over petabytes of data
  • Work closely with security researchers, data scientists and data engineers to understandthe needs of each group and how that translates to organizing data
  • Help identify ways to deliver new insights from data we are already collecting to internal users andourMandiant Advantage customers
  • Enable machine learning pipelines to operate over malware data and metadata stores
  • Engage inarchitecturesessions, challenge existing solutions, and inspire ideas for future enhancements
  • Explore data storageand retrievalsolutionsthat enablemultipleuse cases but also optimize cost
  • Stay on top of the latest technology trends, coding standards, libraries andframeworksto constantly grow your skillset
  • Promote strict continuous code testing and validation to ensure high-quality coding standards
  • Review code base commits andcontributeto the growth of team members

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to work in an iterative, agile development environment
  • Experience buildingdistributed systems that process petabytes of data efficiently
  • Extensive experience with Search Indicesanddealing withBig Data
  • Knowledge oftechnical difficulties associated with Big Data and how toovercome them
  • Experience with Yara rules is a big plus
  • Experience implementing ETL processes and building data pipelines
  • Experience indata modeling and schema design
  • Experience with use of a wide array of algorithms and data structures
  • Strong experience developing inJava and Python 3
  • Experience with RDBMS, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, as well as NoSQL
  • Experience withAWS,Kubernetes and Dockeris greatly desired
  • Ability to pick up, work with and explore new analytical tools
  • Strong experience with DevOps practices and common tooling
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work with loosely defined requirements

Minimum Salary: $120,000. Final salary will be determined commensurately with cost of living, experience level, and/or any other legally permissible considerations.

Incentive Compensation: Eligibility for annual bonus subject to individual and company performance; eligibility for award of Restricted Stock Units subject to eligibility requirements, approval from Mandiant’s Compensation Committee, and vesting terms
