Education Program Manager

30 hours per week

Weekend and evening hours occasionally required; some travel occasionally required.

Position Summary

The Education Program Manager portion of the position is responsible for education and support programs. Programs are designed to support and educate individuals living with mental illness and their families and loved ones and represent the core of the mission.

Responsibilities:

Support signature education and support programs.

This includes, but is not limited to:

Scheduling and coordinating teacher and facilitator training for programs.

Ordering and coordinating shipping of class materials to local affiliate organizations.

Serving as the point of contact with National's Education, Training Peer Support Center to stay abreast of program changes and trends.

Staffing the Education Committee, which is composed of leaders across the state for discussion of affiliate needs and program trends.

Working with the Executive Director to establish education and support programs budget and measure performance against budget targets.

Collecting, entering and managing information on programs for use in reports, funding requests, and for other uses.

General Administration

Support operations and office environment. This includes, but is not limited to:

Answering phones, ordering supplies, managing and maintaining office equipment, troubleshooting office equipment, and other general office management functions.

Entering and formatting information in Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and PowerPoint for Executive Director and staff uses.

Marketing and Fundraising

Support outreach and fundraising efforts, which includes, but is not limited to:

Assisting in preparation of mailings.

Support of and participation in other outreach activities, such as representing Mississippi at conferences and other venues.

Essential Skills

Expert Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

Proficiency in PowerPoint and experience with various databases and database management. Experience with Web-authoring programs such as MailChimp or Constant Contact.

Ability to communicate professionally with vendors, volunteers, community members, staff, and donors, among others.

Understanding and acceptance of individuals and families living with mental illness.

Highly cognizant of privacy issues and rules.

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Willing to go the extra mile.
