Weir ESCOs Senior EHS Manager at the Newton foundry leads a team responsible for designing, developing, and implementing programs and policies that provide and maintain healthful and safe working conditions in compliance with environmental, health, and safety guidelines/regulations and other legal requirements and internal standards established by senior management. Develops and implements programs in order to abate, control, or eliminate environmental, health, and safety risks.

Job Duties:

Take a key leadership role in determining EHS strategy and goals at the site or region level to align with company-wide standards and philosophy; support development and implementation of site and/or division-specific strategy

Direct the planning, design, implementation, communication, and administration of site level EHS strategy, programs, and initiatives; establish training procedures and conduct trainings on procedures; lead the creation, implementation, and continual update of training materials

Contribute to the financial budget planning process for the EHS function.

Develop short and long-range plans to improve the effectiveness of systems and processes, ensuring all SHE compliance requirements are met; ensure robust timely data collection, monitoring, and analysis for any reportable metrics for the site.

Advise employees and management on minimizing and eliminating workplace SHE risks; establish, prepare, implement, revise, and maintain policies and procedures to meet current and known future SHE requirements

Maintain timely and effective communication with employees; ensure all employees have current and accurate information required for safe job performance, and access to training and development opportunities

Manage facility audits and recommend actions for correction of hazardous situations; manage operational audits of required SHE documentation for compliance; manage audit result reports, following up on any required remediation; undertake corrective and preventative measures; certify regular preparation of all emergency drills and emergency response methods

Drive positive behavior across the site through Weir Zero Harm principles and safe work practices

Champion proactive programs to drive leading indicators and incident prevention based on the hierarchy of control; lead initiative to analyze and mitigate risk and communicate with facilities on improvement efforts

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree (minimum)

Eight+ years total EHS experience with depth and breadth of expertise

CSP or CIH certification and previous supervisory experience are preferred

Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States
