Vacancy expired!

The Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) will be the stand in PIC until state board, DEA, and major insurances are in place. This process normally takes 3-6 months. The pharmacist is required to not remove his/her name before the licenses and insurance contracts are received. In the interim there will be minimal hours (average of 8-20 hours per month) Once all licenses have been received the following duties will be added upon opening.

The PIC prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities. Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals. The PIC will be responsible for ordering and entering all medications into pharmacy system. Control medications by monitoring drug therapies and advising interventions.

The PIC ensure patients safety daily. They will check each patients’ medication record every time he or she gets a new or refilled prescription.

They counsel patients regularly once fully open. This involves more than informing about adverse reactions and interactions with other medications, food, alcohol and other beverages. Counseling includes training patients how and when to take doses, following up with patients to see if medications are working, sharing tips on how to minimize side effects while maximizing benefits and listening to all of the patient's concerns.

The PIC will submit all insurance claims and work with private insurance companies, Workman’s Comp, Medicare, and Medicaid to ensure prompt payment. They will resolve coverage denials so patients do not go without medications. They will ensure that billing is done properly and the store profits from each prescription filled.

The PIC has the ultimate responsibility for ensuring the “three Rs” right drug, right patient and right dose. Meeting this responsibility requires overseeing the work of technicians, student interns and residents. Pharmacy owners have the responsibility for making final hiring decisions, marketing, setting and enforcing workplace policies and procedures.
