Now reviewing applications for EXPERIENCED Ordinary Seaman (OS)
Must be able to pass a USCG Drug Screen and Physical upon hiring
Minimum Requirements:
-US Coast Guard Merchant Mariners Credentials - Minimum rating of OS/Wiper.
-STCW (Basic Safety Training)
-Valid 719k Med Cert (STCW Date)
-Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC minimum six (6) months prior to renewal).
-Valid Drivers license is preferred but State Issued ID is OK
-Own Transportation to and from crew change
Valid Passport is preferred but not a requirement
Safegulf, Rigging, HUET/Water Survival, Incipient Fire Fighting, 1st Aid CPR/AED/BBP are preferred but not a requirement
Duties/Responsibilities:
-Maintains the cleanliness of the vessel.
-Performs necessary routine maintenance, repairs, and handle ships business under the direction of the Mate.
-Prepares for trip and load cargo and ships stores.
-Stands watch while vessel is underway as required in order to reach destination safely and expeditiously
Applicant is responsible for transferring rigging, laying rigging, handling lines, moving and operating portable pumps, routine housekeeping duties, general maintenance, and assisting in the navigation of the boat.
These duties will be performed during all types of weather, night and day, and while the vessel is underway.
