POSITION TITLE: CNC Operator
SUMMARY & SCOPE: Run and operate CNC machinery with minimal supervision to fabricate steel materials.
DEPARTMENT: Production
REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
Reads and interprets blueprints
Uses gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements
Mechanically inclined and confident using basic hand tools.
Ability to setup, operate, troubleshoot and make minor adjustments on machinery without assistance.
Must be self-sufficient.
Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling
Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery
Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department
Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures
Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
Communicates honestly, professionally and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills
Other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc.
Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable;
Job frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting more than 100 pounds.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma
2-4 years of CNC operation
Spatial awareness
Familiarity with computers
Ability to use small hand tools
Ability to read a tape measure
