Find your future with us.Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Autonomous Systems is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer (ME) to join the team located in Hazelwood, MO area. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background and experience in product design in either structure or systems, fabrication, and assembly.Position Responsibilities:Lead and implement manufacturing plans for shop consumption, and oversees plan optimization. Foresee and prevent potential conflicts and risks associated with package(s) completion.

Lead trade studies, design / manufacturing improvements, and optimization efforts.

Lead development, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing methods. Lead manufacturing process documentation and refinement.

Lead development of test, inspection & repair schedules. Identify and focal development of mitigation plans for schedule recovery. Ensure that contract requirements, specifications, design criteria and schedule performance are integrated and maintained.

Drive efficiency in the design maturity process by steadfast collaboration with design and stress counterparts. Support development of producible (design and build) part definition in CATIA V5 and release datasets process.

Support technical reviews addressing non-conformances, including chronic and significant repairs. Root cause corrective action support. Contribute to the development of producible (design and build) solutions aimed at reducing costs, improving quality and keeping schedule commitments.

Oversee the integration of new design and manufacturing techniques. Apply emerging industry technologies to develop new or updated process and procedures.

Provide input and oversight of daily build plan and tie into integrated schedule.

Coordinate standards and NDI / NDE [nondestructive inspection (NDI) and non-destructive evaluation (NDE)] probes acquisition. Assist with shipping and receiving test parts.

Participate in status meetings and technical reviews, support daily and monthly status report development and submittals.

Lead training on build processes to operations personnel.

Support workshops on improved planning tools implementation

Candidate must be able to plan and organize their time to work productively and efficiently, while being able to adjust to multiple demands.

Position requires strong communication, teamwork, initiative, integrity and attention to details. Ability to translate complex issues into cohesive, actionable components and communicate at multiple levels of Executive Leadership across several functions.

Support data gathering and performing Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.

Partner with Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Boeing Global Services (BGS), Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) and Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) colleagues to deliver content that drive business outcomes.

Develop and maintain / update presentation material for leadership reviews, create schedules with timelines for key milestones and visibility on important items, establish and facilitate effective meetings, implement improvements and organize logistics of events (e.g., workshops, etc.).

Apply knowledge of policies, procedures, regulations (e.g., Export compliance, intellectual property, etc.) and program management best practices (PMBP) to ensure progress toward deliverables.

Provide guidance to others through structured mentoring.

Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, if required.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. S ecret clearance Post Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.

5+ years' experience leading and working with Manufacturing and Engineering organizations

Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, if required.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):Currently have or have held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months.

Experience leading projects utilizing Earned Value management and risk, issues and opportunity management to drive program performance.

Experience deploying new or modified processes and tools.

Knowledge of the Boeing Production System (BPS).

Experience ensuring Boeing meets its contractual deliveries for Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) items.

Experience in a role that required organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, facilitate, and coordinate multiple projects.

Demonstrated execution in documenting and publishing organizational processes.

Experience interfacing with all Operations and Engineering disciplines, as well as being able to work in a team environment or to work independently.

Experience with Product Data Management (PDM), Unigraphics, , Manufacturing Execution System Common Image (MESci), and Common Manufacturing Execution System (CMES).

Proficient in interpreting and using engineering drawings and specifications.

Experience in Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, linking worksheets, etc.).

Experience working with tooling and/or manufacturing operations processes

Demonstrated ability establishing and maintaining good working relationships by helping people feel valued, appreciated, and included in discussions. Place high priority on team and/or organization goals

Work effectively and cooperatively with direct team members, management, and other cross-departmental teams.

5+ years’ experience facilitating resolution of program issues and leads a culture that includes managing opportunities, as much as risk.

5+ years’ experience researching and leading implementation of cutting-edge manufacturing processes, in addition to applying industry standards, methods and techniques to continuously improving and optimizing solutions for complex engineering and manufacturing processes throughout the value stream.

5+ years’ experience serving as a lead Manufacturing Engineer ​or build captain.

5+ years’ experience with military or commercial derivative aircraft: design, analysis, manufacturing, procurements, assembly, integration, test, delivery and fleet support.

5+ years’ experience working execution to safety, quality, delivery and cost commitments.

3+ years’ experience supporting the quality management system (QMS), which includes value stream mapping and applying lean and six sigma principles to ensure process and product reliability.

Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
