Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started.Summary: The Data Communications team mission is to provide and assess meaningful research that highlights the many ways in which people connect with one another and use our platforms. Whether it's gathering insights about the communities being built around popular videos, how people engage in their favorite Facebook Groups, or the latest trends in Instagram Stories, we partner with teams across the entire company and family of apps to support critical public narratives.In this role, you will be in charge of and conduct your own research projects and analyses to support our public relations teams. The ideal candidate has strong research and communications instincts — someone who can both conduct and understand complex research but also knows how to best present insights to various audiences. Being detail-oriented and having a critical eye are musts.Required Skills: Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our consumer products

Work across consumer and corporate press, as well as media partnerships, to tell compelling data stories

Collaborate with internal product and data science teams to explore strategic opportunities to tell new stories

Develop a visualization strategy for key partnerships, including collaboration with third-party vendors

Ensure the highest quality research standards, including prudent protection of user privacy, at all times

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or scientific discipline or extensive experience in data systems

5+ years of work experience in quantitative research or data analysis

Experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or working closing with public-facing teams

Experience with statistical analysis/data science

Experience with SQL, Tableau, or other reporting software experience with design of reporting development

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in data journalism

Experience producing custom data visualizations

Familiarity with HIVE or similar big data systems

Experience operating independently, anticipating needs, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results quickly
