Summary: Data Governance is an exciting, emerging key area of focus in the Meta Business Group. Its purpose is to make sure trusted information is available to stakeholders to drive business imperatives, operational excellence, and risk mitigation. This role offers an opportunity to blaze new trails as you drive cross-functional collaboration to develop policies and processes to govern Meta’s data, treating it as an enterprise asset.Required Skills: Data Governance Lead Responsibilities:Identify, drive, and implement the core discipline that maintains the overall quality and integrity of the data
Develop control structures to ensure the accuracy and quality of data through all upstream and downstream data channels
Provide thought leadership in defining policies and processes to ensure consistent and accurate data/information
Ensure controls are in place over applications to ensure data integrity by performing data integrity gap analyses
Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with the business owners and technology teams
Drive creation of data policies, processes, standards, and data governance workflows
Define and document business and technical metadata
perform analyses and research to harmonize terms and definitions across systems and business areas
Work with business partners to gather and understand functional requirements, develop complex queries and provide reports. Build strong partnership with the stakeholders
Develop materials and present issues to Data Forums
Develop Data Forum agendas and lead Data Forum meetings
Provide thought leadership and participate in projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:Solid understanding of data management and data structures
Understanding of data governance frameworks and processes. Communication skills
Experience and business acumen in Sales, Marketing, and Operations domains. Project management skills with proven success in leading customer and/or business projects. Facilitation skills and experience driving issues to closure
Self-motivated and experience to handle tasks with minimal supervision or questions
Experience delivering a high level of customer service
Experience to clearly and concisely draft various documents such including functional requirements, policies, definitions, and business rules. Proven business acumen
Understanding of databases and data structures
Analytical and time management skills. Experience comparing technologies and make recommendations to senior members of the team
Technical Skills: Metadata Management, Data Catalog, Data Glossary, Intermediate level proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL), Intermediate proficiency in Excel (Pivot tables etc.)
Skillset: General Data governance policy, frameworks, Data Profiling, Analyzing quality, completeness, Telling stories with data and business impact, Recommending improvements including reference data and enrichment techniques
7+ years of experience of leading and managing cross-matrix, cross-functional teams
