Basic Information

Reports to Director of Central Library Operations

20 hours/week

Wage: $13.19 per hour

Duties

Provides excellent customer service to those visiting Public service areas including Circulation, Childrens, Audio Visual and Library Coffee shop.

Determines customer service needs by analyzing and solving problems.

Provides One-On-One help with library digital services.

Assists patrons with library account questions, in person and on the telephone.

Assists patrons requesting, finding and checking out of materials.

Requirements

Minimum requirements include High School diploma or equivalent or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Must also pass or hold KCMO Health Department Food Safety Certification.

Demonstrated ability to meet and serve the public, working effectively with patrons of all ages.

Demonstrated ability to learn library operations, services and policies, including computer procedures.

Many duties are performed while standing and bending; ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Working environments may be busy, noisy, and/or dusty.

Basic computer skills with a willingness to learn emerging technologies

Demonstrate ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.
