job summary:

Randstad Technologies is seeking a Sr. Application Engineer for an exciting remote opportunity at a stable and well-established company. As a Sr Applications Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other teams to build a functionality that will increase overall efficiency and reliability. This position will sit on the messaging team and be responsible for administrating the messaging systems for the department.

Requirements:

• Experience with messaging (RabbitMQ, JMS, IBM Integration Bus (IIB), AMPQ, Kafka, MQ, or Active MQ)
• Ability to create, support, administer messaging broker operations, transports, message routing
• Experience with administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems in enterprise environments

Plus skills:

• Experience with designing, creating & consuming REST APIs and documentation
• Understanding of API programming and self-service practices
• Experience with QPID and AMQP
• Experience in ELK - Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana – ELK cluster management, index creation, and optimization along with the tuning of ingesting patterns
• Container Platform knowledge (Openshift, Kubernetes)

• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of business-critical Linux systems
• Responsible for application integration, providing support, and critical thinking to solve technical challenges.
• Responsible for investigating and coordinating the resolution of potential and actual service problems, including issues related to applications and infrastructure. This position requires a firm understanding of systems administration across Linux systems and public cloud platforms, the ability to self-start and drive projects to completion, and a willingness to learn new technologies and advance your technical abilities.
