Locally owned and managed sign business has an immediate opening for experienced sign production and graphics specialist. Full time, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Must have a minimum of 1 year experience (preferably 2) in large format printing (flat bed or solvent printers) and vinyl applications. Experience with ONYX RIP software and CNC engraving is a plus.
This is a hands-on position requiring the ability to follow detailed work orders to cut and prepare substrates for mounting printed media or vinyl. You will be responsible for setting up our flat bed and solvent printers for accurate and high quality output. You will also need to maintain printers and other equipment with routine maintenance. Mathematical and basic mechanical skills (power saw, basic tools) are essential. You will perform finishing operations such as laminating, and encapsulating. Some graphic design experience will be needed to serve as a backup to the graphic designer. This is NOT a graphic design position. Adobe Illustrator knowledge is a plus. Must have the ability to multi-task several jobs at one time and ensure critical deadlines are met.
We need a creative eye and the ability to take initiative to produce outstanding quality. Must have exceptional English oral and written skills, above average math, proof reading. Intermediate PC skills sufficient to move jobs between queues to correct printer or plotter. This is a key position in a fast paced environment often requiring a keen sense of logistics and problem solving . Ability to interpret work orders, schedule jobs and insure quality is essential. You will be responsible for proper loading of print materials, printer settings and printer maintenance.
Must have a stable work record, valid driver's license, dependable insured vehicle for Must be able to stand during your work day, have the ability to move about the production area and the ability to lift 50#.
