Job Description
Our Steel fabrication company needs experienced Estimators to join our team. We are looking for talented hardworking professionals who like meeting new challenges and enjoy the variety of doing different projects to showcase their skills while working on a schedule. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in Steel Fabrication methods, machinery, CAD and other computer skills. Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some projects and deadlines may require periodic overtime. We are looking for stable candidates who are looking for long-term employment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare cost estimates for the customer by analyzing drawings, material costs, labor, and requirements. Follow job through inception, inspection, and completion.
Duties:
Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
Determines labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, and specifications
Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying cost and descriptions.
Orders materials
Prepares drawings and work orders
Estimator Skills and Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in estimating
5+ years experience in the steel fabrication business
5+ years of CAD skills
Able to create and read drawings
Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and metals
Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
Impeccable business and problem-solving skills
