RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

* Correctly performs DOT & PM Inspections on trailers

* All trailer preventative maintenance and repair

* Tags all warranty parts with appropriate information to include cause of failure, mileage and removal date.

* Responsible for the cleanliness of work area, keeping spills, grease and debris to a minimum.

* Completes all repair orders in a timely manner, ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit.

* Basic computer skills to input vehicle information and diagnose equipment

* Basic tools required

* Trailer electrical work

* Tests equipment for proper operations

* Fix and repair tires, as necessary

* Welding and fabrication of steel and aluminum, as necessary

* Keeps work areas clean and free of clutter.

* Must have current valid driver's license.

* Performs additional duties and special projects as needed or directed.

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; ASE Diesel Certification, or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

* The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities:

* 1 year experience as a Diesel Mechanic

* Valid CDL License

* ASE Diesel Certification an asset
