With hardworking managers and encouraging coworkers to support you, you’ll find the resources and chances to create meaningful contributions to the world.This position is based remotely in IL or OH.How will you make an impact?The Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) is a field sales position supporting products in our Biosciences Division, specifically within our Gene Synthesis and Cloning business which includes reagents and custom services. The successful candidate will provide technical and sales support, have the ability to establish relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and life science customers, position and sell relevant products and services across customer applications.The position manages sales execution of the Gene Synthesis and Cloning portfolio in an assigned geography in accordance with approved sales and marketing plans. The TSS will have the ability and seek to promote the product features, benefits and applications to successfully sell the company products and services to achieve or exceed the assigned territory sales plan. The Technical Sales Specialist will be recognized as a technical leader within the sales force that drives strategic objectives and adoption of new products.What will you do?Achieve or exceed sales quota and objectives, while maintaining profitability and ensuring 100% customer satisfaction

Maintain contact with customers to promote new products, close deals, and grow sales, as well as develop new prospects

Develop strong working relationship with Marketing, Technical Support, Customer Support and Production

Organize and conduct technical seminars related to the portfolio

Work independently and alongside a team of account managers in order to fully penetrate his/her territory and drive sales revenue.

Responsibilities include: lead generation, team selling with regional sales team, moving the sale through the sales cycle, facilitating communication between the customer, the regional sales team, and the business segment, and forecasting and territory analysis.

Train/enable/support commercial representatives for base business maintenance and grow key accounts in the sales territory.

How will you get here?EducationRequires a minimum Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent knowledge and industry/functional experience. Ideally, a focus in Cell Biology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field is desired.

ExperienceAt least three years’ experience in a similar marketing, R&D or sales role.

Business development skills and cross-functional team leadership experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesMust be proficient in the language and technology of Gene Synthesis, Cloning and Protein Expression.

Excellent technical skill and experience in Cell and Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Protein Expression and/or a related field is preferred.

Strong communication skills as well as analytical, project management and planning skills

Ability to navigate accounts in broad geography optimally and advance the large order sales process consistently.

High motivation and energy level to develop new business and the ability to work independently.

Has or will rapidly develop contact with external customers, internal customers as well as all levels of Company employees.

Must be able to travel 30-50%

Role is remote but candidate must be commutable within the sales territory mainly consisting of Chicago IL / Cleveland OH areas.
