Bozeman owned and operated solar company is looking for a talented and motivated person to assist in the design, permitting and procurement of residential and commercial PV systems. In this position, you'd be responsible for ensuring designs and system drawings are completed on time and adhere to the established specifications and standards, order and receive project material and monitor solar production across a wide range of sites.

This is a fast paced and exciting position with an established solar electric contractor serving the Bozeman and Billings market. Working with cloud based design software the right candidate will work closely with the sales team to create solar electric designs and proposals, order and receive the necessary gear, and manage inventory.

In addition to the design and procurement, candidate will assist in the monitoring and operations of 17mW of utility scale solar farms located across Montana. This full-time position will expose candidate to a wide range of solar electric systems, monitoring platforms and remote operations software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

Create drawings for proposed rooftop and ground-mount systems.

Prepare preliminary energy system layouts based on known site constraints.

Collect, manage, and analyze data for design and engineering projects.

Function in a multi-discipline project team environment to deliver quality design projects and technical reports on assigned projects.

Understand local jurisdictional requirements as they pertain to the design and installation of Solar and Energy Storage Systems.

Collaborate with the Project Managers, Sales & the Executive Staff.

Work with Permitting team to apply for and obtain building permits and expedite permitting when possible.

Self-proofing work to ensure accuracy before allowing any project to continue through the pipeline.

Create detailed material list for each project and submit orders to local and regional distributors.

Receive and inventory deliveries.

Create and manage material list per project and deliver to project manager.

Monitor utility scale solar farms production.

Create and manage production reports and action items for utility scale solar farms.

EDUCATION, SKILL, EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of two (2) years relevant solar industry experience required.

AutoCAD and/or Sketch-Up experience required.

Must exhibit excellent written and verbal communication, project management, task management, and client relations skills.

Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and complete a variety of simultaneous tasks required.

Experience with Solar/PV application design software is a plus.

A Bachelor of Science, or Associates degree in Engineering or an Industry related discipline is preferred
