Join our team in a glacially carved mountain valley one mile
outside of Yellowstone National Park!
Nestled next to Yellowstone's Northeastern Gate in a glacially carved valley, Soda
Butte Creek winding through town, we're located in the town of Silver Gate, Montana. It’s a bit of humanity in a sea of wilderness. Animals from bison to bear to fox to moose pass through our
tiny mountain town almost as if it didn't exist. The best thing about this job is that you get to work in the mountains, right outside of Yellowstone National Park. If you love the outdoors (hiking, fishing, camping, Come wildlife watching, rock climbing) then this is the place for you.
The job includes:
Cleaning cabins (making beds, kitchens, bathrooms)
Weekly outdoor trips
Doing laundry
Weekly community dinners
Access to a wood fueled sauna
Servicing cabins (taking out trash, changing out towels)
Access to community bikes
Interacting with guests
General Landscaping
Applicant should be:
Be good with people
Have experience working with others, as well as alone
Have the ability, and willingness, to learn
Be able to complete tasks in a timely manner
Pay good attention to detail
Have the ability to be quick and efficient
Capable and competent of physical/manual work
The pay is $10/hour, 30-40 hours/week. Housing is available as well. If our agreed upon dates are
fulfilled in good standing, there is an end of season bonus of up to $2 for every hour worked bonus at the end of
employment. Ideal applicants can start immediately and work until the end of the season (October 15th-20th), and employment dates are definitely negotiable.
On your days off the whole park and the Beartooths are your
playground. Unknown to most, the Beartooth and Absaroka Mountains surrounding us, which lie
outside the park, are amazingly epic, wild, and beckoning to be explored. There is no cell phone
service or internet in Silver Gate. However, three miles up the road in Cooke City, free high
speed internet is available 12 hours a day at the Cooke City Chamber of Commerce.
There are plenty of things to do right in Silver Gate and Cooke City as well.
While you are working you get to enjoy the beauty and serenity that Silver Gate has to offer.
