Position runs mid-April through July, with the opportunity to work occasionally throughout the year
The position requires sufficient plant knowledge and the ability to work outdoors
Flexible schedule includes 25-32 hours per week over 3-4 shifts, including weekends
Job involves plant caretaking and maintenance, retail sales of indoor and outdoor plants and products, cashiering, load outs, etc
Our customers are looking for someone who:
Greets them with warmth upon entering the store within 3 minutes
Has knowledge and experience in caring for trees, shrubs, perennials, houseplants, and related nursery products so that questions are answered readily and accurately. If the answer is unknown, they are looking for someone who is quick to find the right answer!
Can help ascertain the customer's true needs and suggest appropriate plants and combinations to meet them
Has knowledge of common tree, shrub and perennial pests and diseases, as well as related prevention and solution steps
Pays great attention to detail and is quick to lend a hand, from obtaining a cart for larger purchases to providing additional information on plant care
Genuinely enjoys helping customers and isn't afraid to show it!

Is able to organize his/her work and prioritize tasks effectively so that customers are well looked after and product is maintained to the highest quality
Has an outstanding history in customer service
Enjoys working in a quick paced, interactive environment and in a variety of weather conditions
Is safety conscious and looks out for the well-being of others
Has a great sense of humor and willingness to learn (yes, it's on the list twice!)
Previous retail garden center experience is an encouraged

Physical Demands:
Standing for long periods of time
Heavy and repetitive lifting (no more than 50 lbs)
Bending, carrying, and pushing
Close vision for iPad work
Exposure to extreme variation in temperatures
