Position title: Field Technician
Salary: $18.00 - $28.00 (depending on experience)

Responsibilities:
Primary job responsibilities involve planning and implementation of environmental sampling and monitoring activities, including:
Collection of surface water, groundwater, soil, sediment, and other media samples in accordance with standard best practices, project-specific protocols, and health and safety requirements
Coordination with project managers, other professional staff, and analytical laboratories to ensure correct, efficient, and safe completion of sampling events
Accurate and comprehensive documentation of field activities on field forms and notebooks
Completion of job duties will also require calibration, maintenance, cleaning, and repair of water quality meters, pumps, streamflow measurement devices, survey gear, and other field equipment, as well as inspecting and arranging for repair and maintenance of vehicles. Operation of a truck-mounted direct-push/auger drill rig may be required. This position also requires frequent overnight travel, including long-distance driving, as well as work in remote locations under highly variable field conditions.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma
Strong field aptitude, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to travel and conduct strenuous work independently under highly variable conditions
Commitment to producing high-quality results and attention to detail
Preferred:
Associates’ or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Experience with environmental sampling, mechanical and electrical knowledge
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification and current 8-hour refresher training
MSHA Certification
Location: Helena, MT
