Seasonal Fly Fishing Guide Job Description
Fly Fishing Guides are responsible primarily for the setup and execution of walk and wade fly fishing trips on Belt Creek. Guides are responsible for the safety of guests and must have First Aid and CPR Certifications. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, rigging fly rods with appropriate flies, outfitting guests in appropriate attire, leading a fly casting lessons, and executing guided wade trips.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Knowledge of effective fly fishing techniques based on time of season and changing conditions, ability to teach clients proper fly casting and fishing technique on and off the water, knowledge of seasonal entomology and the proper selection of flies based on time of year and fishing conditions, and ability to visually or verbally correct common fly casting errors.
Guides are also expected to inventory and maintain fly fishing equipment, assist in guiding other offered activities on a daily basis, maintain and uphold standards of service, and complete day-to-day activities and other tasks as assigned.
Education/Experience
Experience in fly fishing guiding preferred not required. Guide School preferred not required.
Candidates must have a valid, current Driver's License. Previous work in similar capacity and environment strongly preferred. Must be able to stand, sit, walk and move continuously for duration of shift, and be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
