Job Description
We are looking for a barista/server to prepare and serve coffee, espresso and tea beverages, serve food, bus and clean tables in cafe, and support staff in other areas as needed.
We are a 2 year old small bakery/cafe which has seen growing interest from the public in our weekend breakfast scene. We serve high quality, hand crafted pastries, breads, breakfast and coffees. Our weekend breakfast is very popular and you will be an integral part of the customer experience.
Responsibilities include:
Running the pour-over coffee bar, preparing espresso drinks, stocking, bussing, serving, greeting customers, assisting in dish cleanup, sweeping/moping cafe, supporting your fellow staff. You will maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
Skills necessary for success:
Ability to work and communicate with a diverse public, sometimes in very close quarters. Maintain calm in the face of a busy, crowded and noisy cafe. Take direction from your co-workers. Attention and care to detail and the "big picture" all at once.
Experience in specialty coffee, food service and working with the public is a must. Understanding the system we operate with is a young, growing and dynamic operation. Being flexible with the process while maintaining the focus on the customer experience will help you and us succeed.
