Job Summary
This position is generally responsible for diagnosing customers' concern, inspecting the customers' vehicles for any other needed repairs, and filling out an estimate sheet so customers make a well informed decision.
Responsibilities
Receive repair orders from team leader and to take stall area.
Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform needed repairs that are on repair order.Â
Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
Save and tag parts that are needed for warranty and/or at customer's request.
Advise Service Consultant immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within time promised.Â
Document work performed.
Attend factory training programs and video and/or internet training in-house as requested.
Road test vehicles to check work performed and state mileage-out on repair orders.
Ensure customers' cars are kept clean, using floor mats and seat protection.
Maintain a neat and orderly work station, pick up rags and other debris.
Communicate with service customers to determine the nature of mechanical problems and test drive vehicles that need attention.
Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work required
Two years of experience in a dealership position, preferred
General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations
Strong organizational skills and patience
Ability to work independently
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work well in a team setting
Work well under pressure
Possess good reading and writing comprehension
Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written
