We are a regional commercial construction company with offices in several states. We are growing and looking to add a qualified staff accountant to our team. This position would be an ideal position for a recent college graduate with an accounting focus or a bookkeeper with similar experience. Staff Accountant Duties:
Maintain and balance an automated consolidation system by inputting and reconciling data.
Work closely with vendors to set up new accounts, post invoices, and disburse vendor payments.
Generate invoices in a variety of formats based on customer requirements, including AIA format.
Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
Process quarterly and year end payroll reports.
Assist with preparation of multistate sales tax returns.
Assist with income tax planning and preparation.
Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements for review of internal management team.
Work under the direct supervision of company controller who is a licensed CPA.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Preferred degree in accounting or similar experience
Entry level understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, job costing, payroll reporting, and account reconciliation preferred
