Boulder Creek Academy (BCA) is a premier 50-bed residential therapeutic boarding school nestled in the beautiful Cabinet Mountains of North Idaho. We pride ourselves on developing and implementing individualized academic and emotional programming for students 13-18 years of age while also supporting families with developing and sustaining lifelong strategies for the school and home environment. The BCA mission is to empower students and families to achieve excellence in personal growth, relationships, and lifelong learning.

We currently have a full-time Lead Nurse opportunity for a mature and experienced Nurse manager:

Provide students with quality health care while at school.

Manages medication administration: including dispensing as needed (according to physicians orders), documentation, maintains adequate supplies, conducts weekly pill counts, monitor for side effects and communicating any medication reactions to prescribing physicians.

Coordinates on site psychiatric appointments and telepsych appointments for contracting child/adolescent Psychiatrist

Helps determine the need for further services including physical examination, immunizations, and supply of medication.

Coordinates health services including scheduling doctor appointments, arranging for transportation, informing appropriate staff of appointments and coordinating billing for medical appointments.

Manages the facilities Infection Control program and ensures the facilities adherence to State and UHS T.E.R.M. standards in coordination with Regional Risk Manager.

Facilitates communication with families, health care professionals and staff.

Ensures effective and timely communication to Clinical Therapist on student’s health status.

Maintains relationship/communication with all consulting medical providers (Psychiatrist and Medical Doctor).

Assists admissions by coordinating proper health clearance for enrollment, when needed.

Responsible for coaching, counseling and evaluation of each supervised employee, annually.

Provides staff training regarding student health services, medication administration, and other related topics.

Responsible for Company and personal Service Excellence Standards.
