JOB SUMMARY: The IV Technicians job is to administer Micro- Nutrient IV Therapy to patients with the utmost of skill and care, according to established clinic protocols, 2 days a week with the likelihood of increasing hours.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Proficient at preparing micro-nutrient IV infusions, IM injections, and blood draws
Possess good time management skills, specifically related to the initiating and concluding IV treatments
Attentiveness to patients. Closely monitor patient response to therapy: be able to recognize signs of pathology or adverse reactions, provide immediate effective assistance and advise the supervising physician appropriately
Proficiency in phlebotomy skills and protocols - including intravenous catheter, flow rates, etc.
Ability to manage multiple patients simultaneously and efficiently
Report to the ordering doctors
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Phlebotomy certification required with 2+ years of experience preferred
Basic Life Support (CPR) training certification
Infusion Therapy certified by an approved organization - American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or others preferred
Friendly and compassionate disposition
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records
Willingness to become proficient in office-based computer hardware and software and the clinics electronic health records (EHR) system.
Willingness to adhere to protocols for sterile compounding as found in USP 797
