Greetings,
We are seeking a live-in assistant for our elderly Mother in the upper Rattlesnake.
This is a work-trade position for room and board.
We have a 3 bedroom house, you would have your own room, and all your meals provided.
She is a night owl, so it's helpful if you are a night owl too.
(This means she stays up most of the night watching TV and dozing, eats her dinner around 6am, and then sleeps until about 1-2pm.)
You are welcome to keep your own sleeping hours, but it's just good to know that this is her current routine.
Her prime-energy hours are 2-6pm for errands & doctors appointments, etc.
She is a smoker, and smokes cigarettes in the house, so this must be okay with you.
She can walk around the house quite well with her walker, but cannot leave the house without help.
Duties include:
Meal-prep
Light house-cleaning
Groceries / Errands
Various Tasks around the house
NOTE: She is able to bathe and take care of her personal needs such as dressing, etc.
You would have a flexible schedule, roughly 20 hours per week, and can take time off as needed.
As with many elderly people, great patience is required. She is sweet, but also has an independent mind & is set in her ways.
The home is beautiful, well-kept, and with a large yard.
