I am a woman with quadriplegia however I am still relatively mobile for the term 'quadraplegia'. I live at a beautiful, peaceful property in the upper rattlesnake. I have a small team of exceptionally warm and wonderful people who work together to support each other’s days off. We need one more person to join our team. Each person learns how to provide my care and is committed to helping me increase the skills I am working on.
Evening Shifts: 5:30-11:30 p.m.(some flexibility in timing)
This person helps with exercises and standing practice, prepares dinner, and sometimes helps me eat depending on the meal. We do an evening routine that involves changing for bed and transferring, stretching and rubbing out sore muscles to help prevent night spasms in those areas and setting me up to sleep.
Additional Requirements:
- Personal, reliable Transportation with Driver's License and Auto Insurance
- Comfortable driving in snow and ice
- Physically healthy with no back or shoulder problems
- Having a CNA or previous experience with personal care valuable!
However, previous experience is not required
- Would like someone who can stay about one year, or if a student, 2 semesters
- Must like cats - I have Mittens, who loves to snuggle
