Xplorer Maps, LLC (Missoula, MT), a growing brand in the adventure travel and tourism industry, is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, creative, and confident individual to join our team as our Director of Media, Marketing and Communications. This position is open immediately.
MAIN REPSONSIBILITIES
Social Media:
Management and oversight of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. This includes daily monitoring and engagement. A helpful “Order of Operations” manual provides support
Approximately 2-3 posts each day sharing content with relevant industry “influencers”. Xplorer Maps is heavily vested in the Public Lands arena and as such, cultivating relationships with non-profit conservation and preservation organizations is paramount throughout this job position.
NOTE: Typical content would be sharing “map in progress” images and time-lapse videos from our artist and co-founder; FB contests; Customer Testimonials; and other interesting and engaging events/stories.
Marketing:
Main emphasis is always on increasing brand awareness and online sales.
Designing, writing and editing a weekly Eblast (we use Mailchimp) and other marketing campaigns that result in successful open rates and perform well on our Social Media platforms
SEO and/or SEM experience is helpful ensuring that our marketing is maximizing ROI
Communications:
Initial outreach (in tandem with our Sales Team) with all new accounts nationwide
Blogging: XM tries for “weekly”. Involves research, outreach “interviews” and creative writing skills. Passionate, fun and compelling story-telling is what we’re after! Check out our website to see examples of what we’ve been up to in 2020!
Graphic Design:
Although not required, proficiency in this area is extremely beneficial and no doubt will help increase your hourly rate. If not, are you willing to LEARN through paid workshops?
Preferred Skills: ADOBE SUITE: PHOTOSHOP-ILLUSTRATOR-IN DESIGN and WORD
Design and develop sales and marketing brochures, flyers, and point-of-sale materials
Creative and NEW Projects……beyond what are listed here….are welcomed and encouraged!
Administrative
Weekly FB and Amazon reports (minimal)
Mailchimp database management (minimal)
Maintaining organized “folders” for XM content (includes videos; sketches; blogs and eblasts; testimonials; etc.)
The ability to navigate the back-end of our website (Shopify)
Position Details:
Compensation: $20-30/hr. depending on experience.
Hours: 15-20 hours per week (could potentially evolve into increased hours and responsibilities)
Status: Independent Contractor employment preferred
GENERAL INFORMATION
This position is certainly intended to be “remote-friendly”. Much of your schedule will be flexible in terms of how and when you get things done understanding, of course, that in the early stages of employment there may be a need for more “frontloaded’ learning. Thus, we prefer the candidate to reside in Missoula County and be available for a weekly team meeting and in-person collaboration.
Having said that, there are certain times throughout the year where deadlines and timelines are more relevant and necessary. These include New Releases; Tradeshows; Product Releases; etc. Our team maintains shared Google Docs that track all upcoming schedules well in advance.
At Xplorer maps, we are building a team! We work independently; but together. Consistent communication and a strong self-initiative is the best asset any of our team members can have.
