Missoula Community Radio KFGM-FM is entering an exciting new phase this summer. We will be moving our signal to the top of Mt Dean Stone to broadcast at 3.6k on 101.5! We will also be relocating the studio and offices to the first floor of the new Missoula Public Library. All these exciting developments have led us to seek an official DD to help raise underwriting funds in the short term and larger grants in the long. Job Description: Development Director
The Development Director is responsible for all institutional giving and fundraising. The DD sells underwriting to businesses and writes grants, contributing substantially to MCR's revenue stream and sustainability.
Expected Time Commitment:
8-10 hours weekly
Duties:
Solicit underwriting support from businesses in support of MCR operations. Work to meet established personal and station financial goals.
Write grants in support of MCR programming, projects, equipment needs or general operations.
Manage grant execution and post-reports.
Write all underwriting messages in compliance with FCC regulations applicable to non-commercial radio.
Ensure mentions in the card box are in good condition, replaced or removed as necessary, and in order for easy access.
Work closely with the Station Manager to ensure all underwriting is scheduled accurately on the broadcast logs.
Manage all receivables from underwriting clients, to include entering receivables and subsequent payables into spreadsheets, stamping and submitting checks for deposit.
Track all new and ongoing underwriting clients.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with business owners and decision makers.
Communicate effectively with DJs, either directly or via the Station Manager, regarding all DJ obligations regarding underwriting messages.
Plan and execute the annual underwriters’ appreciation party.
Establish underwriting trades where appropriate in support of MCR's needed services and events.
Work closely with the Membership and Engagement Director to secure sponsorships and prizes.
Author a monthly report to the E.D. prior to BoD meetings.

Compensation: The Development Director compensation is commission based as a percentage of sales and client retention to start. With fundraising success; a salary to support grant writing activities within the next two years is the goal of the organization. The speed of this transition is dependent on individual success.
The Development Director reports to the Executive Director.
