POSITION: Sous Chef Seasonal Job at Blue Bell Lodge, Custer State Park, SD

Seeking individual to work during the busy tourist and conference season at Blue Bell Lodge, one of four historic lodge properties in the Park. QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer candidates available from now until- Oct 25th. Seeking candidates with solid line cooking and some prep kitchen experience. Need supervisory experience. Able to do some purchasing and inventory. Able to do scheduling. Need ability to be self-directed and to accomplish assigned tasks. Must have good knowledge of food safety practices. Need good team skills, able to train and coach staff on the spot, high energy and quality food orientation.

LOCATION : Custer State Park is nestled in the Southern Black Hills National Forest Region. The Black Hills are a busy tourist destination for horseback trail rides, old west cookouts, hiking, climbing, biking and fly fishing. Breathtaking Forest backgrounds, panoramic mountain views and abundant wildlife such as Deer, Elk, Big Horn Sheep, Mountain Goats and the nation’s largest free-roaming buffalo herd are all a part of the scenery.

RESTAURANT / LODGE/ CABIN INFORMATION : Restaurant is casual restaurant with early century Rustic Cowboy / Mountain / Lodge design, dark hard wood accents, massive custom stone fireplace, with separate bar area. Seating up to 120. Patio seating for 40 with mountain creek view. Party rooms for 80 and 30 seating. The log sleeping cabins have vaulted ceilings and stone fireplaces. All cabins are climate controlled, fully furnished, and include daily housekeeping service. They also come with telephones, flat screen TVs, coffee pots, and kitchen or kitchenette equipment and outdoor fire pits. There are larger cabins for up to 16 people perfect for reunions and gatherings

The menu offers serves up true Western flavor, with cattle-drive classics featuring bison and even some rattlesnake sausage, steaks, burgers, sandwiches and western comfort food.
