Your day.
As a Food Service Tech II you need to know how to:
Prepare regular and modified diets according to master production sheets.
Prepare food according to standardized recipes and cooking of menu items which meet acceptable quality standards of taste and temperature at scheduled serving times.
Serve meals to patients and residents that are portion controlled for all food items with acceptable appearance to enhance appetite appeal.
Taste test food items for acceptability and palatability.
Use substitution form when any deviation from menu occurs.
Utilize food preparation forms to ensure duties are completed for next day of service.
Document over or under production and adjust prep sheets accordingly.
Prepare food according to acceptable standards to ensure safety of product.
Record food temperatures prior to placing in tray line and steam table.
Complete sanitation/cleaning checklist appropriately. Complete assigned cleaning duties.
Unload freight and place in appropriate locations utilizing FIFO method.
Be responsible for sanitization, including but not limited to: FIFO, hand washing, food storage, food preparation, cleaning method, and food handling.
Follow safety practices, including but not limited to: equipment safety, guards, spills cleaned up immediately and chemical usage, gloves and safety glasses used, (appropriate PPE) and preventing burns.
Operate and clean all kitchen equipment, including but not limited to: mixer, ovens deep fat fryer, tilting braising pan, steamer, stove, and food processor.

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous food service cooking experience preferred
