ICF seeks a Data Scientist eager to use advanced analytical and data transformation techniques to develop practical tools, as well as prescriptive, descriptive, and diagnostic analyses that can help solve complex healthcare problems, transforming volumes of data into actionable information. The team uses human-centered design to implement highly modern, usable interfaces to enable better health care, improvements in population health and lower costs through enhancements in care. This team is creating a centralized and comprehensive mechanism for tracking and managing the existing and future portfolio of models and to provide a state-of-the-art platform for advanced querying, reporting and analytics. Key Responsibilities:Utilize SQL, Python and/or R and common data science packages - e.g. pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, ggplot, plyr, etc.

Dataset parsing, dataset merging, dataset analysis, dataset synthesis

Creation of client facing analysis dashboards and explores using Looker to surface analysis and reporting capabilities to client-based analysts

Identify and learn applicable new techniques independently as needed

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with quantitative focus in Econometrics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science or a related field

4+ years of relevant experience

Strong grasp of statistics, programming, and modeling techniques (machine learning, classification, cluster analysis, data mining, databases, and visualization)

Dataset parsing, dataset merging, dataset analysis, dataset synthesis

Familiarity with controlled vocabularies (e.g. UMLS, SNOMED, etc.)

Strong knowledge of databases (relational, OLAP, and NoSQL)

Candidate must reside in the United States and be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in the healthcare industry

Federal Government contracting work experience

Computer vision experience

A master’s degree with a minimum of three years' experience

Experience with Medicare claims

Experience with the following technologies: Jupyter, Spark, Apache Superset or other BI software, AWS cloud computing

Experience in the healthcare domain, or with quality data sets

Professional skills:Strong technical communication skills; both written and verbal

Ability to understand and articulate the “big picture” and simplify complex ideas

Strong problem solving and structuring skills

Ability to gather requirements from clients, and present or explain analysis in a business friendly manner
