Summary: Meta is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer experienced in the design, construction and operations of critical facilities to become part of our data center engineering team, with a focus on New Build project delivery.Our data centers are the foundation upon which our software operates with efficient ease. Building and operating data centers the "right" way from the day they go live is synonymous with ensuring capacity availability and capital conservatism. The data center design engineering team approaches facility design from the chips on the server boards to the facility mechanical and electrical distribution systems which ensure and maximize efficiency of our compute infrastructure.Required Skills: Electrical Engineer, Meta Data Center Design, New Builds Responsibilities:Collaborate with internal stake-holders to define project design criteria, develop Basis of Design and lead internal technical scope reviews

Technical leader managing consultants to implement the project through schematic design, design development, to construction documents

Provide construction administrative support to the project manager during construction. Tasks include but not limited to, responding to RFI’s, issuance of technical bulletins, review submittals and shop-drawings, conducting source inspections at vendor factories and participating in the data center construction commissioning process

Provide and analyze energy efficient solutions to minimize power losses

Review and develop detailed scripts for change management request (CMR) activities

Travel to data center sites for engineering studies, electrical systems audits, startup testing, and full commissioning, as required. Approximately 25% travel to both domestic and international project locations

Provide electrical mission critical system review services to local data center operations teams

Participate in equipment failure or power outage related incident Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA)

Provide instructions to design consultants, installation contractors and validate the quality of installed works

Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies

Serve as Owner Engineer able to navigate competing priorities to effectively deliver capacity

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:BS in Electrical Engineering, or related degree

Electrical Professional Engineer registration, or working towards it

Minimum of eight (8) years professional experience in electrical distribution design and construction

Experience with high voltage (>115kV), medium voltage (35kV, 20kV 12kV) substation design, low voltage (480V/400V) power distribution, and UPS systems

Experience with industry standards, building codes and safety standards including NFPA70, NFPA70E, IEC, BSEN, NSAI and IEEE

Experience with construction and cost estimating processes

Experience with electrical safety programs

Experience with retrofits in operational facilities

Experience with cross-discipline (i.e. Mechanical, Building Management Systems, Fire Alarm/Fire Protection, etc.) critical facility systems

Experience with AutoCAD or Revit, Visio, Bluebeam, and SKM software

Trouble-shooting and analytical skills

Experience providing solutions to complex projects under pressure

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:Electrical Professional Engineer registration PE/CEng

Data center or mission critical design, construction and operations experience

Experience on large scale electrical construction projects

Project Management experience

Experience in data center or mission critical design and construction support

Experience with Electrical Power Management/SCADA systems

Experience performing short circuit and arc flash studies

IEEE PES or IEEE IAS Membership

Strong communication skills
